While we provide you with frames, lenses, and help you maintain and fix them, we want you to be informed about eye health.

Your eyes are said sometimes to be the windows to the soul.  However, they are also the portal to overall health – most notably sleep.  What you see at length with regards to what is called, Blue Light, can impair your sleeping patterns and in turn, your well being.  Blue Light can be found in a large amount of places.  From natural sunlight or daylight to new LED displays.  LED is found more and more on mobile phones, TV, lights at work or home.  The resolution on screens additionally contributes to the Blue Light effect.

Are you reading that tablet, smartphone, smart-TV or desktop screen at night?  If you do and you are not utilizing a Blue Light app or device to filter the brightness, then you will interfere with your circadium rhythm.

The human body has been trained from early times to waken and sleep with the sunlight or daylight.  The brain is trained to release the Melatonin hormone to start the sleep cycle.

If you continue to let Blue Light in through your eyes, the brain will halt the hormone release and your sleep can be delayed.  Your lost hours of sleep or even the change in your cycle can start to wreak havoc on your health.  The more you disregard the impacts of Blue Light, the more you obviously will pay in terms of your well being.

Lack of a good sleeping pattern can be caused by many factors out there so do not let Blue Light contribute to it.  There are many apps for your phones and other devices to limit the light in through your eyes.

Stay Focused At Night

  • The rate of myopia in Americans 12-54 grew from 25% of the population to 41.6% of the population by 2004.
